Permaculture Manchester . . . lets put some green on the urban scene

Following on from the success of the solstice event on Birchfields park, the network travels further afield in search of inspiration and invigoration in all things permaculture.

This months event is a trip to the Middlewood Trust near Lancaster - (Backsbottom Farm, Roeburndale West, Lancaster, LA2 9LL)

Middle Wood Trust is an educational centre, promoting environmental courses, located in a beautiful setting.  The farm is privately owned by Rod Everett, who founded the charity and has kindly invited the MPN network to come and have a look around and help out with ongoing work at the farm.

Rod Everett at the Middlewood Trust is a well known permaculture designer and teacher. We'll tour of some of the exciting ongoing projects on the site including the straw bale build in progress, fruit tree grafting, reciprocal
roof, forest garden, roundhouse, yurt, woodland crafts, wood fired rocket stove, wooden turbines, solar heated kiln etc and we'll be mucking in with whatever's going on.

We'll be camping on site on the Saturday night - bring food to share, instruments, campfire songs and ideas for fun and games! If you can't stay over, do still come on whichever day suits - the plan is to arrive between 10.30 and 11am on the Saturday morning...
