The Kindling Trust will be holding the second FeedingManchester event on Saturday 24th  October to plan practical ways of making Greater Manchester's food system more sustainable.

The event is for a relatively small number of individuals and groups and focused on partnership working and practical solutions that aim to:

1)   Bring together the growing number of enterprises & groups in Greater Manchester who are working on, providing and/or interested in local food issues.

2)   Address obstacles to people sourcing/providing local sustainable food.

3)   Develop a strategic way to increase the sourcing, provision of, and access to local sustainable food.

Start: 24/10/2009 15:00

Many of you will have attended the wonderful herb walks run by our friend Tim Moorhouse, well, the tireless work that Tim and his medical herbalist colleagues undertake is under threat. Big time. New EU directives threaten the very existence of medical herbalism, acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine and as a result we’re more than a little cross. There is, however, something that you can do to help – by attending a meeting at HCGC this Saturday, 24th October at 3.00pm – at which, Tim will explain what’s happening and what we can do about it. For anyone who attended our recent Codex event this should be of particular interest to you but we urge everyone to come along. More info about the meeting is attached.
